- Introducing the new WATERPROOF "EZON" LED Lighting system for Traxxas TRX-4 D110 Defender Body from Club 5 Racing.
Designed from the ground up, specifically for scale crawler RC. User friendly is our #1 focus and simplicity is our ultimate goal. So you won't find any fancy flashing lights or confusing modes to set up, all functional lights are there to do what they're supposed to do. Installation can be done in 3 easy steps:
1. Attach all LEDs from primary circuit to TRX-4 body.
2. Reconnect steering servo / ESC / 3rd channel servo to secondary control circuit and receiver.
3. Connect primary and secondary circuit to complete.
One of the key design feature is that we have splitted the control unit into two circuits: Primary circuit on the body for all the LED connections and the Secondary control circuit with very small footprint remains on the chassis, small enough you can fit it in many of the stock water tight receiver box. So when you need to remove the body for replacing batter or if you need to do other maintenance, there is only ONE wire to disconnect from the chassis, that's how EASY it is!!
As for the TRX-4 body, all the wires are cut to length to fit the body perfectly! In additional We've also designed new front and rear light buckets / brackets to securely hold down all the LEDs attached, no more hot glue or shoe goo to mess around.
The Y connections to the Servo (CH1) and ESC (CH2) is also integrated into the secondary circuit to make the whole set up tidy. And there is an optional front /Rear Bumper lights will soon be available for your additional needs that can connect right into the secondary circuit.
Our Easy On control circuit will works on Traxxas TQi transmitter and most of other ones with two position third channel control such as Futaba or Speckrum. Besides turning signal lights, break lights and reverse lights will come on as controlled from the transmitter, you can have the total command over all the lights remotely through the third channel. However, with the limited remote channels available with the TQi system, we have programmed the control circuits differently for the TRX-4 command as followed for the Hi/Lo speed 3rd channel to control the "Easy On" system.
1. One click to turn on/off Fog Light*
2. Two clicks to turn on/off Head Light*
3. Three clicks to turn on/off Emergency Lights
*One click and two clicks on the third channel are interchangeable by switching the plugs (#5,#6) on the primarily circuit. With the default setting, you can have the head light always on ( two clicks) in either Hi or low speed and the fog light ( one click ) can serve as a speed indicator light when you're running at night.
LED Lighting system will include the following:
Primary Control Circuit ( for LEDs connections )
Seconday control Circuit ( for Signal connections )
Head light x 2 (Cold White 5mm)
Fog Light x 2 ( Warm White 3mm)
Turning signal lights x 4 (Yellow 3mm)
Braking lights x 2 (Red 5mm)
Reverse/Backing lights x 2 (Cold White 3mm)
Y connector x 1 ( for Channel 3 / Steering Servo)
Complete sets of 3D printed Front and Rear bucket / brackets
Zip tie and 3M Body wire clips

Great piece of kit! Fitted them to my son’s Traxxas defender and together with the sound module that we have, our nightly dog walk feels like taking a real miniature defender out!!
This is a quite realistic and functional light kit, with low beam, high beam, turn-lights, back-up lights, and brake lights.
The chassis controller (secondary control circuit) unit needs to be placed next to the receiver box for best wire management. I used circuit 12 for extra front bumper lights
For the body, the Primary circuit controller has to be placed close to the front body mount. The pre-cut wiring harness was not perfect, the front right and left LED wires were not long enough, I had to extend them by two inches. I used circuit 8 to control the rock lights. The front lights installation is requiring extra work to modify your body inner fenders to provide some clearance. The pictures provided (from the web) actually are showing such mods, but aren't mentioned anywhere. The overall harness length from the front controller to the rear light assemblies is really tight and could use an extra inch or two..
I wish that better front and rear lights sub-assemblies would be available, but it would bring the cost up, which is why the EZON lower cost attracted me first. Maybe this could be an option. Also wish that an additional "brake" circuit would be available for the chassis secondary unit, to allow for additional rear bumper "brake" LEDs.
I wish that some electrical specifications would be available for each circuit, like the output voltage and rated maximum current. This would allow for better use of the extra circuits for the DIY folks. Finally, what is the maximum operating voltage for the system, I am limiting my BEC voltage to 6 volts, but could use a bit more for my servos...
Overall 5 stars rating for price and functionality, but this kit requires a bit more experience for a good install.
It is a nice set.
the brake and reversing lights work perfectly and
the direction indicators are also doing well.
At the front you can switch on the fog lights and headlights together and / or appart.
How the lights switch may be explained a bit better.
The lamps work faithfully.
this set highly recommended.
